NZALA’s submission on the Emergency Management Bill No 2

On Wednesday 25 February 2025, NZALA’s President, Marcelo Rodriguez Ferrere, presented to the Governance and Administration Select Committee.

NZALA largely supports the requirement for regional emergency management plans to set out how animals will be managed during an emergency and powers of entry to rescue animals. However, NZALA also recommended discrete amendments to the bill, which you can find in our written submission below.
